Thoughtspot reloaded

By the time you will have read this, you will have noticed that my blog had received a bit of a face lift. Why, you ask?

Well first, I’ve been feeling a bit guilty about neglecting my blog lately. Yeah, there’s that other blog, but I always knew I’d come back to my first love. Plus, I miss waxing philosophical about various political, technological, and social issues that wouldn’t be appropriate for our moving blog.

Secondly, my hosting provider, Dreamhost, has been managed by monkeys lately. First, they managed to get themselves put into some realtime black hole lists (RBLs for you tech savvy types) during my job search. Oops! Then, yesterday they had massive outages that left my website down—and possibly inaccessible to my millions of loyal readers—for hours.

Enough is enough. I’m headed back to ModWest. They’ve always been smart and friendly. Plus, being civic minded folk, they’ve donated web hosting to at least one of my favourite non-profit organisations. So, even while hosting at Dreamhost, I never really had the heart to turn off my hosting account with ModWest (I think I knew I’d be back).

So, here it is, for all who play the Google “sucks / rocks” game: ModWest rocks. Dreamhost sucks. Enough said.

So, why the new site layout? Well, quite frankly, I got tired of worrying about security vulnerabilities in Word Press. Plus, I never got the hang of blogging online in a web browser. Apple’s iWeb gives me an easy editing platform and the simplicity of quality static content.

My e-mail should all be flowing the same as it always has, so from y’alls perspective, nothing has changed.

Comments on this blog are, unfortunately, not enabled. iWeb doesn’t support them unless you host on .Mac. While, I do have a .Mac plan, I do like my vanity domain too much to switch.

Hope you like the changes, though I suspect that content is really what needs to be added.
